Stage 2A and 2B of the Thornlands Community Park were incredible projects developed for the Redland City Council, created to meet the open space and recreational needs of the Thornlands Community. Designed to be social, relaxing, dynamic and connected – The Park provides distinct individual spaces for a variety of community activities and uses. A multitude of equipment has been established to satisfy the curiosity and needs of everyone from toddlers to adults.
SCA QLD was subcontracted by The Landscape Construction Company to supply and install the rubber safety surfacing and synthetic grass components throughout different sections, totalling approximately 600m2 for Stage 2A and 460m2 for Stage 2B. A vast range of colours and patterns were installed for this project to best complement the installed equipment. Our team installed PlayKote Precoat in Emerald and Caribbean, Galaxy, Fawn & Orange. PlayKote Gezolan EPDM colours were also utilised in Bright Orange, Bright Blue, Pink, Bright Red, Bright Green, Dark Green, Bright Yellow, with orange and white EPDM used for the domes. Australian made Urban Ascot synthetic grass was also laid adjacent to the Rubber Softfall. These surfaces were installed in accordance with Australian standards AS 4422:2016.
