It is our people who make our company what it is. We pride ourselves in being a people first driven organization, as it is our individual staff who bring together their unique expertise, qualities and passion to achieve what we do – The Late Mark Weber.
A Legacy of Leadership and Kindness
Mark commenced his early career in construction, including civil and project management and in 1991 began working on the development and commercialisation of recycled rubber-based impact systems specifically for the playground industry. By 1995 the systems were commercialised, and Mark was producing and installing for Australian and International markets.
Over the following 30 years, Mark has accrued a wealth of knowledge pertaining to the Recreational and Sports surfacing industry. This includes certifiable impact systems for the playground industry, equestrian surfacing systems, flexible and permeable pavement systems and sports surfacing systems.
In 2016 he worked with the formerly known Sports Contractors Association to incorporate contractors specialising in playground safety and surfacing into their existing industry association. This association then became known as the Sports and Play Industry Association [SAPIA]. Mark sat as a Director on the SAPIA Board until his passing.
Mark’s kindness, generosity and compassion for others were central to who he was. Always generous with his time, Mark leaves a lasting impact on all who knew him. His legacy is woven into the very fabric of SCA and our success. Mark’s memory will continue to inspire and guide us for years to come.
