Porous Paving

Porous Paving

Stoneflex and Fleximix are enduring alternatives to concrete, bitumen, and pavement. Comprised of locally sourced aggregates, recycled composites and recycled car tyre rubber, our systems are available in a number of finishes and specifications to suit your exact application.

These resin bound products are devoid of loose aggregate, offer a low-maintenance surfacing solution. They are a long term and cost effective solution, with high slip resistance, weather tolerance and environmentally sustainable qualities.

Stoneflex is a UV stable product, offering a hard-wearing porous surface designed to foster green landscapes in urban environments. Stoneflex can also be used as an aesthetic overlay for dilapidated concrete or paving.

Fleximix surfacing is comprised of approximately 40 per cent recycled tyre rubber and uses up to 30 kilograms of rubber per square metre, creating a positive environmental impact through recycling and repurposing. Flexibility and porosity encourage water to reach root structures of surrounding trees, reducing future root growth while providing a greater tolerance for movement if root growth continues.

Fleximix and Stoneflex are successful in reducing the strain on existing stormwater infrastructure through reducing flooding during periods of heavy rain and returning rainwater to the water table, all while striving for environmental sustainability.

Permeable surfacing is ideal for:
  • Tree surrounds and root coverings
  • Pathways and courtyards for parks and gardens
  • School courtyards, thoroughfares
  • Driveways and carparks
  • Refurbish through overlaying existing worn (but still structural) concrete and asphalt surfaces
  • Pool surrounds, pontoons, marinas and stairwells
  • Create or improve disability accessible ramp to NCC compliance
